One question that we're asked often is, "How does working with a designer work?" I thought that explaining the design process might help clarify a little.

1. Initial Meeting

We will meet with you to discuss your project, learn about what you'd like to achieve, what you like and what you don't like, how you live in your home. This will give us a chance to get to know you a little and for you to get to know us. This meeting is so important; we have to be comfortable together in order for the project to be a success!

2. Site Measure/Plan Review

A time will be scheduled for us to come to the house to measure and photograph the existing conditions. Or, if you are working with an architect, we will review the architectural plans.

3. Drafting

At this point, floor plans will be creating from the measurements or we will work with the architect's plans. These plans will be used for kitchen & bath designs, furniture placement, lighting plans, etc, depending upon the scope of the project.

4. Design Concept

Based on your style & needs, we will create a design concept to present to you.

5. Project Management

Upon approval of the design, we will specify, source, order and track all elements needed for your project. We work with architects and builders to manage the project to ensure everything goes smoothly.

6. Installation

Install Day! Once any construction is complete and all items have arrived at the warehouse, we schedule delivery and make the design a reality.

Some of these will vary based on the size of the project, but I hope this gives a general idea of the process. Install day is always a favorite! I love when all the elements come together, where we see our vision and the client's personality shine through.
